Allianz Global Assistance is the registered business name of AZGA Service Canada Inc. and AZGA Insurance Agency Canada Ltd. Allianz is one of the more well known global travel insurance brands, often used by travel agents offering coverage for Canadian travellers. Allianz easily falls into the top tier of Canadian travel insurance providers, and have a wide range of travel insurance products to choose from, including visitors to Canada insurance. 

Advantages

• One of the higher quality plans in terms of the secondary benefits offered:

  — Hospital benefits include semi-private room;
  — Higher dental, funeral, and paramedical benefits;
  — Follow-up visits after emergency;
  — Family to bedside benefits;
  — Full Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefits.

• Trip break permitted for those travellers that may need to return home quickly without cancelling and repurchasing policies.
• The Inpatriates plan is one of the few visitors plans to offer maternity benefits (for pregnancies that begin after the effective date).

Disadvantages

• Coverage of Pre-existing medical conditions is greatly restricted for those 60-79, with no coverage offered for cardiovascular, cerebrovascular or lung conditions.
• Higher premiums than some other comparable plans.
• Language is not aspirin, nitroglycerin or prednisone friendly.
