Super Visa Length

*The multiple entry visitor visa was another route which family members of Canadian permanent residents and citizens. However, in November 2024, it was announced that “multiple-entry visas issued to maximum validity are no longer considered to be the standard document.” This means that it isn’t guaranteed that people applying for the multiple entry visitor visa will receive visas with long-term validity. Immigration officers now have greater discretion in determining visa type and duration.

This announcement has not impacted the Super Visa. So, visitors looking for a longer-term stay in Canada may want to consider applying for the Super Visa instead.
